As part of the Vancouver Now! exhibition series, Annie Briard will present an immersive sensory environment that unfolds through direct encounter, challenging traditional frameworks of perception, enveloping the viewer and encouraging a slower, more attentive mode of looking. Briard’s practice engages with the aesthetics and concerns of landscape imagery and affect theory, as well as photo conceptualism and the Light and Space movement—artistic traditions rooted in the West Coast.
