Pioneering photojournalist, women’s rights activist, and advocate Donna Ferrato (b. 1949) has photographed the lives of women for more than 50 years with unwavering dedication. Documenting the resilience and spirit of women—particularly survivors of domestic violence—she has spent extended time in women’s shelters and traveled with law enforcement responding to abuse calls, determined to shed light on the often-invisible experiences of survivors.
