The Hammer Museum opened in Los Angeles, California in 1990. This exhibition marks the first opportunity since its opening to comprehensively showcase the museum’s collection in Japan. Its founder, businessman Armand Hammer (1898~1990), devoted most of his life to collecting art alongside his business career.
