Frederick Ebenezer Okai's artistic practice stems from ceramic traditions in Ghana, using low-fire techniques and adopting the finishing aesthetics of endogenous pottery, as well as the historical impact of British influence in the mid 1940s. Trained at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Okai constantly challenges himself to unlearn rigid academic methods and follow a more organic approach.
