It is often the case that it is the things people love and the friends they cherish that give them the strength to live. This was surely true of the renowned nineteenth-century Joseon Dynasty scholar and artist Kim Jeonghui (1786 – 1856; sobriquet: Chusa). A master calligrapher, Kim immersed himself in tracing the origins of Chinese characters through the study of stele inscriptions.
