Toronto-based artist Annie MacDonell works across photography, moving image, installation, and performance. Her practice often begins with found and archival images, which she reframes, fragments, enlarges, and repositions to examine how meaning shifts across different contexts. Rather than treating lens-based images simply as records of reality, MacDonell draws attention to the role of perception, memory, mediation, and the conditions of viewing in shaping what we see and understand.
